July 26 is National Disability Independence Day, a day that recognizes the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and celebrates the rights, achievements, and independence of people with disabilities.

At Trivium Life Services, we believe independence is more than living on your own—it's about having the opportunity to work, build friendships, participate in your community, and experience the same sense of belonging we all deserve.

Today, we'd like you to meet Stacey.

Stacey is vibrant, social, and loves being part of her community. Like all of us, she wants the freedom to attend events, spend time with friends, and participate in the activities that bring joy and purpose to her life. But when the accessible lift van she relies on breaks down, those opportunities can suddenly disappear. Outings are canceled, community events are missed, and Stacey is left waiting while others continue on without her.

Her story is about much more than transportation.

It's about inclusion.

It's about dignity.

It's about ensuring that a disability never becomes a barrier to belonging.

Watch Stacey's story to hear, in her own words—and through the perspective of the staff who know her best—what independence and inclusion truly mean.

Stacey reminds us that independence is built through opportunity, connection, and access. Your gift today will help provide a new accessible lift van, allowing Stacey and others supported by Trivium Life Services to continue participating in their communities, building relationships, and experiencing the belonging everyone deserves.

Thank you for helping create a community where every person has the opportunity to thrive.
